Margareth Duras is a long poem, in different books with different verses.

this was one of the best books that i have read in a really long time. at first i was scared to read a book about such a sad subject. it's about a highschool shotting and all the people involved from the shooter to the grieving parents. i was also concerned for the similarities between this fictional story and the real-life happenings of columbine high school. however, i went ahead with the book and could not be happier. well, not "happy". the book was tragic! my heart literly hurt with sadness for these fictional characters. i am the mother of a soon-to-be high school student and i will have to add school shotting to my list of worries for my son. what a world we live in!

Holocaust books are hard for me to read, but I found this one fascinating. I couldn't put it down. Concept, characters, plot development--all wonderful.

There may, or may not, be a special providence in the fall of a sparrow; I am definitely beginning to feel that there is a divinity that shapes my reading, rough-hew it how I will. How else to account for the progression of the last three books I have read? From Raoul Duke and Dr. Gonzo, running a savage burn on the natives in Vegas, to the Dortmunder Gang, bungling their way through the theft of a Tsarist Chess Set, to what I like to think of as "Milo Minderbinder's War", in which a flock of former Young Republicans blithely and sanguinely attempt to impose Democracy and the glories of a Free Market Economy on the formerly sovereign former State of Iraq? Did it never occur to any of these Numbnuts that, in order to impose a Free Market Economy, it would help to have, say, an infrastructure? More than nine hours of electricity in a given day? Um, computers? And, of course, the Glories of the Free Market Economy, which used to be called Supply Side Economics, are altogether too evident to us now, in our own heavily mortgaged country. This is a highly entertaining account of what happened to the Free Market Wet Dream, confronted with the Vagina Dentata of conditions on the Iraqi ground. Chandrasekaran even manages to find a few heroes amongst the rogues, racketeers, and oblivious Idealogues of the Green Zone: men such as Jim Otwell and Alex Deghan, who could see the situation for what it was, and who tried valiantly (and futily) to solicit Iraqi involvement in the rebuilding of their country. But C'mon, we aren't there to let the Iraqis run their own country; we are there to give them Democracy, whether they want it or not.

I feel like one of the only people out there that wasn't forced to read this book as a teen. I wasn't aware of all of the controversey surrounding this book. I was really disappointed with the way that the book ended. True or not true, I felt that there were so many unanswered questions that left me sad (mission accomplished I suppose.)

Very clever and amusing tale of two Irish murderers and the lesson that there is a very good reason why they don't put pockets in burial shrouds.

The Passage is a very long book 843 pages on my nook. The book was written in 3 parts, which each part could have stood on its own. I thought this was a very good read, the plot was very interesting. The ending of this book is what made it 3 stars instead of 4 stars. I felt that it was rushed.
