Well researched retelling of Ernest Hemingway's time in Paris with his first wife, Hadley. Tales of adventure, mixing with other artists and authors, and a life that seems unreal to some of us. There was lots of drinking and literary trials and tribulations and criticisms. It was a delightful read and enticed me to re-read A MOVEABLE FEAST by Ernest Hemingway describing the same period of time.

A hilarious collection of emails sent between employees of a semi-fictional advertising agency. An absolute must for anyone who works in the industry and still brilliant for those who aren't. As it is written solely through emails, the tone of voice of each character comes through from their first word. From the typos to the exclamation marks, every character is instantly recognisable and beautifully formed. Despite it's humour, it is a really cleverly put together book which I have reread many times. To use an acronym that is probably to late for the time this was published, it did actually make make 'Lol' throughout.

Read this for school. Just as good as the last time I read it! Really shows the tropes of the Commedia Dell'Arte that era that still exist and work today!

The subject was fascinating, but I had to look past the author's simplistic writing style and the annoying personality. Any other book on this subject would have probably gotten 5 stars from me. I want a parrot!

I really liked this book. It's dark and very cynical about the world. The only thing I didn't really like that much was the science-fiction-y kind of ending. I should've liked it, though, because I like science fiction. I was in a science fiction movie once, called "The Creature from the Gravel Pits."

A very disjointed read. It wasn't until almost 3/4 of the way thru it that I actually became interested in the characters and what was happening with or to them. The ending was unsatisfying in that it just set up the next installment of the series. This book might have been more enjoyable if I had read the preceding one. I won't be looking for it or the sequel though...
