I have been wanting to read this book since I was in my high school book club. It took me about 5 years to actually get to it. So happy that I finally read it. Very humorous. Happy with the book from beginning to end!

A story of a Canadian girl who falls in love with a Cambodian student who is also in a rock band. They lose touch when he goes back to Cambodia after the fall of Pol Pot. Years later, she travels to Cambodia and they are reunited, although she is fated to lose him again. It was a beautiful love story. At the beginning I was tricked into thinking that it would actually be a story about a Cambodian without going into the horrors of the Pol Pot years, but that was not to be. For me, reading about all the atrocities in Cambodia overshadows the rest of the story, but how can it not?

I can't believe a comrade recommended I buy this to "further my development." It has some good parts about how capitalism COULD do things way better but won't. Stuff as simple as which way bricks are laid, semi-interesting.

This book is full of little surprises. I would love to read it when talking about the beach. It'd also be fun to have a show-and-tell with kids presenting their own personal "treasure boxes" with things they treasure, such as collections, etc.

I did not want this book to end--such charming characters!! I loved how the author could weave wit and light heartedness with somber war stories and heart wrenching tragedy. Mostly it's a positive book--you won't be depressed reading it. Epistolary, but reads seamlessly. I highly recommend it; I'm sure I'll read it again. And probably buy it for the people I tend to buy books for.

Enchanted, Inc. A Novel is the most excellent and humorous book ever, excellently written and very excellent main character. I love the personal images Katie gets in her head, and her evil little thoughts, it was the best and funnest book that I have read! Just buy a Mocha Frappuccino, a bagel with cream cheese, lay down on the couch with your-oh-so-comfortable blanket and your set for an adventure! I never stopped laughing all thorough this book, Shanna Swendson leaves me feeling great, good job Shanna!
