This book took me a moment to get into, but it soon gripped my imagination and I find myself thinking about it all the time. Especially loved the chapter on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. The Romantic Period... now I feel an understanding of it so much more thoroughly... another piece of the puzzle that created who we are today. Very interesting.

This is a great tool and resource for any student seeking to conquer Heidegger's influential magnum opus. Dreyfus takes you through section-by-section, offering informative and rigorous analysis. What I really like about this book is Dreyfus' effort to resist re-appropriating Heidegger back into the English-speaking, Anglo philosophical tradition. Yes, he makes reference to thinkers like Donald Davidson and John Searle during certain discussions, but he remains faithful to Heidegger's own project - which is something inherently opposed to English-speaking Analysis. Oddly enough, Dreyfus fails to be so cautious in his other popular commentary on Foucault - a book that ultimately disappoints while this one surprisingly succeeds. The book's only shortcoming is announced in its very title; this is an investigation into "Division 1" of the book. There is no thorough treatment of the latter division; however, there is a great essay elaborating its themes and such. If you feel like chewing on some Heidegger, this will wash it down with a sense of refreshed understanding. God I love my metaphors....

It was ok. I actually liked the last chapter better than most of the rest but there were still things that bothered me. Overall the writing was ok, although I felt slightly irritated by the tone, and worse, the characters were hard to connect with.

Disappointing end to the series, but still good. I felt like it progressed too slowly and I didn't end it feeling like the story was over. To sum it all up, I didn't feel the ending was satisfying. Margaret Peterson Haddix still ends it well, but not quite as well as I'm sure other people hoped.

I do adore Neil Gaiman. But this book is kind of confusing me. I can't decide whether it is very imaginative or sort of lousy metaphorical.
Everyone should read this. A very interesting look at how technology has changed the world for good.

Interesting views on coloring hair and perceptions on aging. I am not ready to quit coloring, but I might for my 50th birthday :)

I love this book. The info covers many aspects of cupping, not just those with Chinese medicine applications. It's good to see cupping and trigger points as a chapter onto itself. Cupping is a relatively painless way to release those naughty knots.

Not her best, but not her worst either. As usual, Picoult wrote an interesting, quick read. Her formula is getting a bit...formulaic...for my liking and I felt that this one took an awfully long time to get rolling (more than 200 pages before the contentious issue really arose). Still, it kept my attention.
