much more melancholy than prior works: reads like an author channeling Bolivar, reflecting upon the end of his days and meaning of life. reading it at age 24, it feels depressing, as though I'm going to live between now and 80 and only have sad memories to account for it. perhaps a book to read when one gets a few more years down.

I thought this book was just okay. My biggest thing when reading books is connecting with the characters so I feel like I am them. Well in this book I found some similarities Stacey and myself but I also felt distant from her and the other characters. The way they acted was sometimes unrealistic to how most people would act in their situations. There was also a lot of witchcraft and magical occurrences and I’m not really into that kind of stuff. I like my books to be more realistic so I can get more into the story. I did however like the overall theme and plot of the book. Although it was cliché how the author used dreams to foreshadow what would happen next she used it well. In the end it wasn’t a terrible book but it wasn’t fantastic either.

This book is unique because it has different authors and plot lines and there are so many different stories so you don’t have to read the book front to back. You can read the stories in any order you want. This book has many deep emotions with both sad and humorous stories. A couple things that may make people want to read this book is that it’s very relatable for teens. Also it has many stories so you can just pick and choose what stories you want to read. It doesn’t take that long to read one of them. It’s also good for teens that need advice. Some of the stories can be depressing so people who can’t stand sad stories shouldn’t read this.

Great read - highly recommend for upper level reading classes, or segments of it to high school readers (portions need to be edited for this audience due to some language) Great insight into the writing process - very readable and partially an autobiography which makes it an enjoyable story as well.
