I really enjoyed reading this. Perfectly paced and nuanced. It doesn't engage much emotionally, but I don't mind that in a book. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was that I was a bit disappointed in the ending. It's subtitled 'A Victorian Mystery' and there were hints that we were going to discover something hidden but actually the finale was just a wrapping up of what we knew was happening anyway. I'd be surprised if it won the Booker, but definitely an excellent book.

As usual, I love anything and everything Meg Cabot writes. The Mediator series is definately one of my favourite teen romance books. Paul is such a pain - why can't he leave her alone?? And why does Suze have to be attracted to him?? I so want Jesse and Suze to have a happily ever after!! On to the final book.

Now she wants some werewolf loving and after chasing them for several days, the werewolf who was hurt comes to her. Now he's says she's claimed but she tries to deny it. Okay story. Short and wam-bamish.

Super powerful. Thank you to the author for the intense emotional state you created, particularly at the end of the book. The only little thing that bugged me about the writing was the author using occasional German words for impact but then immediately after every one of them, he would translate what the word meant into English. I found that a bit distracting and annoying. That said however, words are hard to write to express the impact of this book. It's a classic and many elements of this book will remain with me forever.
