This is the first book by Leah Braemel that I’ve read, but it certainly won’t be the last. Sarah and Jackson are forced to wed, but Sarah can’t help but wonder if she’ll ever have all of her husband, who is in love with his best friend Nate. And the more time Sarah spends with Nate, she starts to fall in love with him too. It sounds trite, and cheesy, but Braemel does a great job at making their relationships realistic. The depth of affection happens gradually, and is tested by the stress of everyday life in close quarters. I appreciated that these are not wealthy landowners who live the rich life, but rather homesteaders struggling to earn a living. Even Nate isn’t wealthy, just comfortable. Braemel establishes that the sexual chemistry is there, but the real question is – can they all accept a happily-ever-after that includes them all? I can’t wait to read more of her titles.

This Angela Hunt series is pretty good if you can deal with the details of burial, embalming, etc. Overall a very good story in this series of 3 ( so far).

After crying about 6 times reading Lonesome Dove, this reads a little like an afterschool special. He captures the angst of young love very well. I wasn't a straight teenage boy, but I completely identified with the narrator going through all of these trials just to get a glimpse of a naked woman. And the coaches wife reminded me a lot of the female narrators of Tom Perrotta's Little Children and What was She Thinking?: Notes on a Scandal by Zoe Heller.

I really liked The Things They Carried. In this novel I really admired O'Briens comparison between true and real stories as well as the overall concept of how the war affected him personally. I really appreciated how the stories are divided into individual stories because it makes the reader feel as if they have a personal connection with the main character and O'Brien himself. The language O'Brien uses whithin the novel was hard to understand at time but after it was reread it made sense. If I had to reccomend this book to anyone, I would. After reading The Things They Carried it made me interested with the other war books O'Brien wrote and how they are similar and different. Overall The Things They Carried was very intriguing and kept me interested through out the whole book.

Okay not what I thought for the spin off series from Vampire Academy. Just hope that it don't get to over done as the series goes on.

I am in the middle in my opinion of Dubliners. I found the layout and structure of the book intriguing but difficult. Without any guidance on what to focus on I would have been absolutely lost. However, knowing how the characters transition in age and focusing on if and how they were leaving Dublin and their reasoning really cleared everything up. I found the end of the book, in chapter 15, "The Dead", to make a lot more sense to me. Gabriel states that it is better to live having experienced passion and love then to wither away in old age never having felt anything. I think this is true in so many ways for the dubliners. The people were incapable of leaving, of carrying out what they truly wanted to do. They remained oppressed and made the "right", "honorable" decisions the majority of the time though it was not what their hearts desired. The dubliners didn't live to their fullest and I think that was a huge problem with their inability to escape the drab city. Overall, I liked the book. The setup was difficult but the writing style was very easy to follow. In the end, I think I greaty enjoyed the book at a surface level but found the deeper meaning a little cloudy.
