Louis Pauwels - The Morning of the Magicians - I originally read it in French and I was really inspired by the thinking behind it. The way it was opening gates to new spheres of thought and innovative way of looking at the unexplained. It gave a sense that there are answers hidden all around us for which we had to dig a little deeper, if we cared to "connect all the dots" that were left unconnected behind life's mystery veil and that one could actually lift the veil by one's own creativity and epigenesis to perform the necessary internal alchemy of revelation. Some criticize it for lacking factual basis and fail to realize that one must tune into the Spirit woven through the long but fascinating text and its veiled revelations beyond the words, as obviously this masterpiece finds its power in the words that are not said. It is one of those rare "Book of the Mysteries" given to those among us who have eyes to see and ears to hear!

Mashing together polygamous sister wives, "Hunger Games" dystopia, and Jane Austen tales where the dramas of characters are pretty much confined to one sprawling estate, I loved this one. Although the premise is a little extreme and tricky to understand at first (in the future, all women of a particular generation die at 20 and all men at 25), once the characters end up in a dilapidated mansion where there are sister wives, a mysterious basement, a confusing husband, and a cute servant boy, I was hooked. I'm a little wary of future sequels because I really liked the spatial confines of this one (kind of similar to most of the action unfolding in the Hunger Games arena) but I guess we'll see what will happen in any future Chemical Garden book. The cover was impressive and the whole design of the book was interesting, although it sort of made the book seem like more of a high fashion book that would be dropping brand names instead of an inventive scifi YA.

I can't say I remember a ton about this book, because I read it in high school, nevertheless, if I actually made it all the way through and enjoyed it, it must have been fairly good to me then. It is about prohobition and the flapper lifestyle of the 1920s. I seem to remember there being some hidden meaning and symbolism in this book, so I think if I were to go back and read it again today, then it would probably be even better than the first time, simply because at an older age, I believe it is easier to spot these sorts of things.

Korkunç değildi ama ben de müthiş bir başarı demezdim. Arsa ve karakter ilerlemesi oldukça erken anlaşılması çok kolaydı ve tanıtıldığında kimin oynayacağını kimin oynadığını söylemek çok kolaydı. Bundan çıkacak tek harika şey ana karakterlerdi kardeşim, gitmenin çok farklı yolu ve ben bunun için destek veriyorum. Bunu okumak için tam bir zaman kaybı değil ama kesinlikle süper okuma alanında değil.
