This only mostly only gets four stars for Kaede's chapters -- I think her plot in this one is more interesting, while Takeo is mostly just slutting it up on everyone he meets.

big, messy, sprawling and ambitious. I slightly prefer some of his tighter volumes -- White Noise, Americana, Libra -- but this is singular work, and like a lot of big novels, I'm not sure i can grasp it's shape and purpose in one reading.

Plot premise was good, but not developed. Mostly used as vehicle for edgy sex.

I think that this book was a good read. Who could've thought of living among the blacks in the south in the 1950s. How do you disguise yourself without anyone figuring out that you were not born black. White people jugded you on the color of your skin.
I recommend this book to all parents of boys, helped me a lot with mine!

Anatomy of the Spirit is an excellent read and wonderful reference book. I read it years ago but refer to it frequently. Myss does a great job of helping us to understand how illnesses are related to the health of our spirit. She links the chakras or energy centers of the body to physical diseases and helps us understand the emotional and spiritual wellness that is needed for good health.

This over-achieving young co-editor has big stories in mind for the school paper; big enough to shock the whole school.

Just re-read. Favorite Gaiman, rich texture and characters.

Wow, JCO! I just hardly know what to say here. The honesty and openness with your emotions and feelings is raw. Painful. Dark. And repetitive. I ached for you, I really did but the method you used for telling this story grated. This third person "the widow" device was bizarre and, for me, detracted from the flow and feeling. Also, I was mostly creeped out that you still refer to your (deceased) father as "Daddy". Maybe this wasn't a good time for me to read this memoir of your, as I seem to be nit-picky about the book, questioning. I am glad you got through this time and very happy you seem to be surrounded by wonderful friends. Friends can make all the difference.
