An interesting and scary look at the world of homefront. A good story on its own travelling through the broken continent. I can't wait for the game

I'm actually re-reading it, since they've announced the movie will be released this year. The movie looks excellent, can't wait to see it.

Too fantastic & dark for my taste. Totally unlike the Harry Potter books.

After making Eclipse last an entire week so I wouldnt have space between reading Breaking Dawn, I devoured the book in 2 days. I couldn't put it down for anything. While it was a long book, I do feel like everything worked itself out a bit too easily. But it makes sense considering how hard Bella had to work before she was "created". Of course everything, even the unimaginable, would come easily to her now. I want another book. I don't care if Stephenie Meyer takes a few years to continue the saga. It just can't end at 4 books.

this is a book about four of my loves...dorothy parker, edna st vincent millay, zelda fitzgerald, and edna ferber. a witty chronicle of the humanity of four of the strongest female authors to arise pre-world war II, more primarily in the roaring 20s. Edna Vincent with her beauty and ability. Zelda with her zaniness and her famous and familiar husband. edna ferber with her indescribable hits. and the delectable dorothy parker with her crassness, her tragedy, her honesty covered by a translucent layer of brevity and soul and wit, enough disguise for her humanity. the quatruplet anchor sanity with depression, independence with disfunction, as no other group of female authors may or dare.

Yes, women in the middle ages lived more restricted lives than women today. Natch. But they were also landowners, business owners, guildmembers, and apprentices. This volume collects a series of Eileen Power's lectures--each on a different class of women. The writing is easy and more popular than academic. It's also a bit quaint in some of the language, having been written in the '20s. I'm currently reading another Powers book, Medieval People, and am enjoying it greatly. I'd also like to find her work on medieval English nunneries.

This is a fascinating view of the early Old Testament from the women's perspective. Some of it is a little heretical and some of it is obviously completely fabricated, but if you can suspend belief just a little, this book is a lot of fun. It made me think about things a little differently.

The book follows two friends and touches base with them on July 15 every year for 20 some years. The story was fine but I really enjoyed how it was written. On July 15th, and the exchanges reported on that day was enough to catch the reader up on an entire year.

This book is just plain fun to read out loud. "a wocket in my pocket"... I could say it all day long:)
Reminded me a bit of Catcher in the Rye. Didn't care for the characters and their behavior.
