This was the finale to the Elite Ops series and Jordan and Tehya's story. I really liked this one for the burning sexual tension between the two and amazingly hot scenes. Tehya's past is about to catch up with her. Jordan and the entire Elite Ops team comes to her rescue. This is really how a finale book should be written, with multiple appearances by all the characters we've read about as well as Jordan's father. The suspense story wasn't all that suspenseful, but I loved the couple so much I didn't really care.

En un intento, casi desesperado, por darle fin a sus crónicas vampíricas, Anne Rice trata de arreglar y cerrar el maratónico choque de universos que desató en Merrick. En esta novela se funden las crónicas de Rice sin mayor alboroto, en realidad es más de lo mismo y parece sólo querer acabar de exprimir el tema de sus novelas más rentables económicamente, aun así hay buenos momentos en ella.

So far, not bad, reminds me I've got to put the Koran on the to read shelf, but I know myself and it's going to be quite some time. There isn't much info here other than the translation. From the intro, the guy seems to be a relatively unbiased "believer". Coming from a pretty much non-believer, I'd take that as a "compliment", the unbiased part I mean. Before you read this, read the Bible. I'm saying that as a person who is not pushing the religious side. I took a class that was called Bible as Lit... Just remember, it is a fundamental piece in lit... By the way, I would also suggest reading Greek mythology and Nietzsche... if you don't laugh, that's okay.

I read this in a book club and we took about 6 months to read it together...we read just a few "books" every couple of weeks and I loved it as a whole but I didn't necessarily love every chapter. Lewis is quite scholarly but taking it slow has really helped me see his gift of clarity and surpringsly, humor. I put this in my favorite books category. At first I found this book difficult but upon continued reading I've found it quite insightful. Lewis's writing has definitely helped me clarify some of my own beliefs and has given me new reason to be excited about them.

This is a beautiful story of two women living contemporaneously in an upscale condominium in Paris...one rich, one poor, one old, one very young...both suffering existential crises. With suicide at risk, can the reflective mirror of the other's life provide enough of a redemptive inspiration for the one in crisis? Through the introduction of a Japanese neighbor and his unique openness, the two women find eachother and themselves. This is a book that is ageless, genderless, and without a defining religion. It touches a reader on a level more basic and philosophical than cultural. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
