I liked this book because it was as much about the scientists included as their discoveries. Of course now I want to go pick up more thorough biographies about some of the people that it covers... The very end of the book starts to drag though. After a good overview of Pauling's political activism, things get a bit jargon heavy and we stop getting the same level of personal detail that made the rest of the book so interesting.

How long can you, or would you, wait for love? That is the question explored in Marquez's exquisite novel. I admit that I saw the movie (where Florentino was masterfully played by Javier Bardem) before reading the book, but I do not think it matters so much. It is less the storyline than Marquez's actual writing that makes me feverish. I almost become a Romantic while reading the book. Marquez makes no excuses for love. He writes about love as it is in its purest form - an everlasting element that survives war and cholera, and most of all, time.

They have incredible chemistry that just about leaps off the page. Between the banter and flirting Marc realizes how special Matilda is. A well known architect he has put everything he has into his work. His family has taken a backseat in his life. That's all about to change! I really enjoyed this story. It was a quick read that had me smiling and wanting more. Fiona Lowe's characters were great - Matilda is funny as hell and keeps Marc on his toes. Which is exactly what he needs. I loved the small town setting, and how the secondary characters played into the story. This author is definitely one I will have to be on the look out for in the future. Anyone who loves contemporary romance will enjoy this book!

The DaVinci Code, by Dan Brown - I give it about 3 and 1/2 stars; of course, I liked the code-cracking aspects, but only up to a point; the author seemed to go to that well a little too often; still, a solid tale; and of course, how could it possibly live up to the hype, by the time I got to it?
