A gripping story that illustrates the power of mind over matter. The story of Louis Zamperini is a great tale that might have been lost if not for Ms.Hillebrand's research. While the story of his time and see and subsequent captivity steal the show, the book is an all around page-turner that is interesting until the very end.

Written during Germany's invasion/partial conquest of France during WWII, this book offers keen insight into human nature, especially regarding matters of survival and class distinction. I wouldn't call it an "easy read" because many of the characters, particularly in the first half, are so unlikeable. But the language is often breathtaking. The book was undiscovered for 64 years after the author was deported to Auschwitz and killed. The appendices, which include her journal notes on the book as well as her husband's frantic letters attempting to locate her, will break your heart.

I bought this book for my bombshell little sister, but I kept it. :) While I think I enjoyed The Bohemian Manifesto more because I could relate to it, The Bombshell Manual of Style is still up there with my favorite books. I do think that every woman can relate with aspects of ths book. I feel that this should be a must read on every woman's reading list. While reading this I thought: "ugh, I want to be a bombshell!" Haha. :D The illustrations are beautiful. The book is fun to read and each page put a smile on my face. I truly enjoyed this book. I will be reading it again.

Lessons Learned: Learned a lot about Asperger’s syndrome. Summary: Interesting novel about Jacob Hunt a teen with Asperger’s syndrome. The story revolves around a murder he was accused of committing. In the end we find out he really did not commit the murder but someone else did. I enjoyed the read and learned quite a bit about Asperger’s. I sometimes wished the author would not get into so much detail.

I love these books! I am so sad to have to wait for the next one to come out (April 2012)! So far, it is really making me think about what I would do in a crisis, and what kind of people are in my life and for what reason. It really is an amazing story thus far. Can't wait for the ending :-)

I really liked it. I wouldn't consider it a medical "thriller" as my heart did not race at all... but I liked the complexities and the pace was fast enough to keep me interested. I would recommend it to those with an interest in health care (Shauna!).
