I thought it was a fun, fluffy read. A good summer book.

I love the last phase from the book: "don't ever tell anyone anything or else you'll wind up missing everybody." (I think)

Eye Candy is chick-lit at it's best.Tera Lynn Childs does it again amazing read. The story is told from Lydia's POV and how she has to choose between Gavin the ex who cheated on her or Elliot the HOT model and 6 years younger. I loved all of this book and loved how when it got time for Lydia to make up her mind who she wanted to be with the reader got to choose as there were two different endings to pick from. All though reading this book i couldnt make up my mind up who lydia should pick but in the end i choose the Elliot ending and although it was a good ending I then went back and read the Gavin ending and found myself thinking that for me there was no right or wrong man because I ended up loving both of them in different ways just like Lydia. Do I stick with the elliot ending then the answer to that question is yes because I really prefered Lydia as a charcter when she was with him.

I really enjoyed it! I really get into the characters, and the way she switched back and forth between Jacob in his 90s and when he was young made me empathize with him. It was a very fast read...especially at the end I couldn't put it down.

This is a great book to read alone in a quiet place. The descriptions are so vivid, they really took me to America's deep south. You can practically taste it... and who doesn't love a fiesty young protagonista?

I should read this book earlier..... I know nothing about Tibetan Buddhism before, not mush after reading this book also. But one thing I get from this book and agree to is "Emptiness" This is not Tibetan Buddhism own believes, If you know about "Zhong Zhi" anf " Lou Zhi" They are taliking about "Emptiness" also. The term that they use is "WU WEI"

Yuck...there are so many things I didn't like about this book, I don't know where to begin. Lets start with characters: What's her name MC: She is one of the most fickle minded MCs I've ever had (dis)pleasure of reading. One min she is in Love (roll eyes) with this Peter guy she doesn't know squat about and is ready to run away with him. Then in the next min she is doubting him to be the wolf and turns him away. Then she lists out pros and cons of both Henry and Peter while dissing Peter and still claims to be in love with him (huh?) She thinks Peter takes what he wants and doesn't care about her happiness (not that he takes anything from her) while Henry was selfless (why is she in love with Peter again?)...and Again she changes her mind and thinks it "doesn't matter" if he is wolf (even if the wolf killed her sister) and then in the same page she is running away from him (in bonus chapter) all the while reminding herself it "doesn't matter" (sheesh make up your mind already). She talks to Peter whole of 3 times in the book. First one to say "hi" and second to make out with him and the third time to slam door on his face thinking he was wolf. Ick..how did she become MC? Now Peter: I have no-idea who he is...there isn't much character built for him. I suppose they tried to go for Mysterious, but failed utterly and he became unknown. Henry: Well I can't say I like him...or not like him. I guess he is nobody though he's got better role than Peter. One time he thinks he is different from others and the MC is different from others too. So they can be different together. Then next time he is brought up...he is declaring his love to the MC. This Love word has totally lost its value here if you ask me. MC's Mom: She seems very shallow and money minded...not to mention playing favorites with her daughters. Also if she loved and lost...don't you think she'd want her daughter to atleast be with someone she loves??? guess not with this mom. MC's Grandmother: Deliberately made to look suspecious though for no apparent reason except to throw us off (or so they thought) Not single character in this book had depth....all of them were pretty 2 dimentional. They were brought to fore ground and pushed back based on their necessity to look suspecious. If author thought she want to make someone look suspecious...she brings them and throws them off when she is done. MC doubts everyone including her own mom, grandmom, her love interest...everyone..except the real wolf ofcourse. What would you do if you see a big werewolf standing infront of you planning on making a lunch out of you??? you'd run right or freak? Nope not MC, she says "what big eyes you have"...ha ha. I was laughing my head off at this point. Then she has head injury and faints (I think), then she gets up and says "Mom I am going" and puts on red hood (ha) and a basket (of all things...why you ask??? no idea)...and heads out in the woods...may be we can chalk this up to her head injury :) Overall this was one of the worst books I've ever read. Now that I dumped all my un-pleasant thoughts about the book in here...may be I can forget I ever read this book (one can only hope).

Less a collection of short stories than a litany of vignettes and lists (that's right, a litany of lists) of things crumbling, rotting, molding, falling from the sky, drowning, vomiting, dripping, disintegrating, breaking down, melting, bubbling, decaying, putrefying, stinking, degenerating, deteriorating, and dissolving. This physical decrepitude (of humans, animals, buildings, Earth, everything) is mirrored in all of these stories by familial breakdowns between parents and sons (there's a kind-of daughter in one story, but the father is the protagonist in that one) or siblings, which is a nice technique, but when it's the only technique present in every single story... The language, furthermore, veers wildly between lofty and poetic and oddly pedestrian. This might be a conscious choice, but if it is, I hate it. With a lot of editing and condensing and combining, these 13 mediocre-or-worse stories could have been condensed down to like 2-3 really great ones ("The Ruined Child" being, I think, the closest to a great work here as is). There was a lot of potential under the grime and shit and mess of this book, but Butler got too caught up in... well, the grime and shit and mess of this book, and never polished anything enough to really deliver on that potential.

I guess I can't star something until I've finished it. I'm coming to Marquez late, and I'm ashamed to say, I've not been a fan of his other stuff. This seems to be suiting me fine - though there was virtually no wind up, and it seems to have needed that.
Back in 1994, this book help me put together my thoughts when I was putting together business proposals for schools and for the company I was with at the time.
