Yeter Ki İste-Depak Chopra Mucizeler her gün gerçekleşir. Mucizeler her gün, her sat, hayatınızın her dakikasında gerçekleşiyor. Şu an dahi içinizde mükemel kaderin ger-çekleşmesini sağlayacak tohumlar henüz ekilmemiş bir halde, öylece beklemekteler. Bu potansiyeli açığa çıkararak hayal edebileceğinizden de öte bir yaşama sahip olun. Nasıl yapacağınızın ipuçlarını bu kitapta bulacaksınız. bel_booth
Bel Booth bel_booth — (Genre:Mystery) I am always torn when I read Anne Perry. She writes a great mystery with distinct characters and wonderful attention to detail for the Victorian English culture. But I usually can only read a book or two of hers before I need a break. Her writing usually explores some hidden and dark elements that we usually don't associate with the time period (probably due to the social constraints at the time, not because they didn't exist). I've asked myself while reading her books if murder must always have some dark and unsavory element behind it and I decided that it isn't unlikely, seeing that it IS murder we are discussing after all, which is a very dark subject. This novel is the 5th in Perry's Thomas and Charlotte Pitt series. Charlotte is summoned by her mother (Caroline) to her parent's home in Rutland Place to address a private and potentially embarrassing situation that her mother finds herself in. She had a locket stolen with a picture inside of a secret crush/love. While Charlotte strives to help not only to find the locket but to protect her mother from herself, a murder is committed and Inspector Pitt (Charlotte's husband) is called to investigate. Eventually Charlotte's sister Emily also becomes involved as they become embroiled in the investigation. I didn't care for the resolution to the murder revealed at the very end and the dark reason behind it, but the ride to get there had some entertaining moments and it kept me fully engaged. Here is my favorite "thought provoking" quote from the book. Charlotte is confronting her mother about her mother's infatuation and making the case that she doesn't really know the man and he doesn't really care about her either. He has no idea how seriously Caroline is taking their flirtation because Caroline is feeling a little lonely and overlooked at home by her husband. Charlotte tells her mother that she is just pinning her romantic ideals on this other gentleman without truly knowing him. "We haven't the right to dress anyone else in our dreams and expect them to wear them for us! That isn't love! It's infatuation, and it's childish--and dangerous! Just think how unbearably lonely it must be! Would you like to live with someone who didn't even look at or listen to you, but only used you as a figure of fantasy? Someone to pretend about, someone to make responsible for all your emotions so that they are to blame if you are happy or unhappy? You have no right to do that to anyone else." I thought it was a great argument. Especially since we live in a culture where we often mistakenly label infatuation and passion as "love", which is much deeper and less selfish in nature.

Yannick Daems _uillaume_denkbeest — This is the mythology of the Lord of the Rings. The narrative style is more like that of a reference book and its less of an involving narrative. But the stories are beautiful and exciting. The world is created by the song of the creator. If I had to pick a mythology to believe in it would be the one Tolkien creates in this book.

Eliza Jane _liza_ane_urtis — One book that has been on my TBR list that I finally got around to reading (and I’m so glad I did!) is Minder. If you read my blog enough, you know that I have series issues with abuse in stories. I just can’t read it myself--don’t watch it in movies, and find it very difficult to invest myself in a book that deals heavily on the subject. When we first meet Maddie, she is in the midst of being attacked. Oh God, my heart almost gave out on me. I almost put the book down. However, the scene was quickly over, and no sooner was she attacked than she was able to save herself. The means in which she defeated her attackers had me hooked on the story by the first chapter. I’m so happy I pushed through. What Maddie had endured, and the way she handled it, brought me very close with her character. And as she began a new life in the Ganzfield boarding school, I felt for her as she faced all new obstacles and hardships. She was more than a likable character. I always fail in my reviews to express just how much I love a character when they truly touch me, but just trust me; Maddie is a strong, fierce, and thoughtful girl with amazing insight. And that’s not just because of her ability which allows her to see into other’s minds, though that does help with her growth as she evaluates the rights and wrongs of doing so. But she herself grew throughout the story to become a much stronger person because of who she was and her principles. What I really loved about this story was the relationship between Maddie and Trevor. Normally I’m all swoony over a great lead guy, but I’m hooked on Trevor in a deeper way. He is drop dead gorgeous for sure, but because we are able to see what he’s thinking through Maddie, we are given everything. His vulnerability, worries, desires, strengths, weaknesses…. Everything. He’s an amazing character. The love between Maddie and Trevor literally made me breathless. While I was reading, there were passages where Maddie had to remind herself to breathe, and I found that I’d been holding my breath also. It’s just that passionate. The paranormal aspect of the story was phenomenal. I'm so picky about this. For me, if there's not a strong enough plot, the romance fails. Both have to balance each other to make the story work. I completely lost myself in this story--rooting for the characters as they discovered more about their abilities and also following along with the logic and theories. I didn't pause once to question if something wasn't plausible, I simply nodded along, caught up in the world. Even had a discussion with my 13yo son later at the table about lucid dreams lol. Okay, when I love a book this much I can go on and on. I tend to ramble. So I’m going to end my review here and simply say that Ms. Kaynak is an amazingly talented writer. I loved the voice of this story, and I fell in love with the characters. If you’re looking for something fresh in the YA Paranormal Romance department, do yourself a favor and check out Minder. If I still listed my review flames for ratings on my site, my blog would be on fire!
