Mánek Rio manekin — I really enjoyed this book. It starts out with Meghan being a prisoner of the Winter Faery Queen and deserted by the Winter Prince, Ash, who she thought loved her. Meghan thought the Iron Fey were defeated but when they steal the scepter from the Winter Court she realizes that the battle isn't finished. With Ashes help they both escape. Their journey to find the scepter takes them through the faery and human world. Once on their journey the action intensifies and Meghan gets help from some surprising characters. The romance between Ash and Meghan develops more in this book and leads to a cliff-hanger ending that left me wanting to read the next book.

Apostol Tnokovski tnokovski — I liked this book, it was one of those you needed to curl up in front a fire in a cozy room to read. Great characters and I like the way the author writes. Looking forward to reading more from her!

Kalend Hunter _alend_errell — This definitely isn't for all young adults, but I read it with a group of kids who had mostly been to juvenile hall themselves. They could see me as Mark Salzman, and themselves as the kids in the book. They cracked up when we read parts aloud, including the curse words. I'd still say there is an undercurrent that this is mostly a book about a white writer going to juvenile hall to gather stories to write about. Some of the kids/students are pretty memorable, some have tragic stories to tell, and some could do something with their writing. Reading this book requires the right context, in some ways. I had a very clear parallel going on in my life, which made it more meaningful. I also had several built-in critics to read it with me and help me make heads and tails of it. A good read, though not for everyone.

Steven Guillen stevenguillen — A few of the more recent ones didn't seem quite as strong as here earlier books. I thought maybe it was just because I was reading them one right after another. But this one, this one was great! Thank goodness there is a new one twice a year!

Lina Cardenas lian_2894d311 — Some swearing (including a handful of F bombs) and some sexuality I could have done without, led to the three star rating of this book that I couldn't put down. I cried for the entire last chapter. I don't know that it is nearly as good as BEACHES (what is often compared to in reviews) but it was good.
