Mark Abrahams markabrahams — I was quickly drawn into this story. What the author was able to achieve -- in terms of research, bonding with the family, and writing a fascinating account of Lacks' life -- is really remarkable. Raises very provoking questions of ethics, policy, and medical procedures.

Aaron Short _aronshort — This is a much darker story of Roy Hobbs than the theatrical adaptation. If you have to choose between the two I would opt for the movie. There are some similarities however the book is much more complicated and entrenched in the hardships of life. The movie captures these better and more effectively without embracing the darker themes found in the book. I also think the mythical themes of the movie offer a more captivating view of the characters and relatable life experiences.
