Vicent 28 _eovannyespinoza — This book was great for learning the ins and outs of the history of hip hop. From the politics behind it to the culture and how it developed. Through the good and bad times, hip hop has been through it all; and prevailed. This book does a great job combining hip hop’s music, dance and fashion into a culture that feeds America’s youth. Jeff Chang uses his passion for the hip hop culture and the exeriences that he has been through and reflects them in a way that is easy to understand. It allows the readers to be a part of the time period almost as though you were reliving it. He uses quotes and interviews to recall certain memories and conflicts between characters. This book is perfect for someone who wants to learn about more than just the public’s perception of the world of hip hop. It’s for those who want to be taken down a rollercoaster of experiences, a path of highs and lows that mark this cultures various history.

Tony Mendoza _acedogff80 — This is my copy. Bought it new, even. Devotional, 365 entries. Some very good, others have a holiness stance with which I do not agree.

Paulo Travassos paulo_trav3fd7 — WOW! I was pleasantly surprised when I finished this novel... I loved it! It's said to be a memoir, and it is I suppose, but it was so much more than that. It was actually an assigned reading, but unlike all the others I've experienced, this was so heartfelt and beautiful! I would definately recommend it for it's beauty, charisma and warm hearted feeling of love incorporated. The nurturing feeling and warmth were extremely felt in my opinion, especially in the end which I enjoyed most. I related a lot to it also, through the loss and other feelings, so as enjoyable to read as it was I give it 4 stars! Really, the heart of the womanhood put into it was so inspiring as well.
