Akshita Bhandari _kshita_handari — I'd heard a lot about this book in the past and it has been on my 'to read' list for quite a while. McInerney's nameless hero is is caught up in a whirlwind of cocaine, drink and lies as he fails miserably at his job as a fact checker on a top New York magazine. This dates the book as everything is done by hand and telephone, no internet, Google or Wikipedia here! His life becomes more of a mess as the books goes on and it's hard to really sympathise with him. The book isn't as funny as it thinks it is, nor as sharp, but it's a quick fun read but without the dark heart of Bret Easton Ellis's contemporary novel, Less Than Zero.

Scott Hess _cott_llen_ess — The book was okay. Not great. I don't know if I would recommend it to anyone. The book was long and seemed to drag on and on with little action. Could have been so much better or so much shorter.

Bruno Frizzo brunofrizzo — This is a very well written book about the loyalty between two boys growing up in Afganistan in the midst of turmoil. It was a very touching story and the characters were very well developed.

Nick Hulk _ulks — Really no sequel to a masterpiece such as Gone With The Wind will ever live up to the first. I wonder how well this book would have been recieved had it been Margaret Mitchell herself who authored it. Could even she had continued the story of Scarlett with the same passion and voice as she portrayed her in GWTW? I remember reading this book back when it forst came out. I liked it okay but in no way did it draw me like GWTW did. And it is rather telling that I have GWTW sitting on my bookshelves but Scarlett is long gone - in a Goodwill, a Used Book Store, or in the hands of some stranger to me.

Martin Garrihy martingarrihy — So it's the fourth one in a series I guess and I think it would have been less confusing if I had read the earlier ones because it took effort to figure out who was who, and who was a vampire and who wasn't, etc. Also, the story is mostly about the characters and the serial killer plot is very much in the background. The writing style is unique and I can't quite explain it but it was a little refreshing and a little confusing all at the same time. I got this book at my friend's wedding (the books were part of the centerpeices and we got to take them home) so the real question is would I read another one? A: Probably, especially if it was sitting at my house.
