Nikola Bibic nikolabibicdesign — I am a complete sucker for the Richard Sharpe series by Bernard Cornwell. At last count there are twenty books spanning the main character’s British army career from 1799 to 1821. This was a fascinating time populated with larger than life people, most, but not all of them, men. The main heavyweights of course are Napoleon and the Duke of Wellington and they appear here and there in the series. The main subjects of the narrative however are the common soldier, the British officer class, and an assorted cast of villains, usually French. If well done putting your main character in various famous situations can be extremely engaging and Cornwell does it very well. For example, his plot device for getting Richard Sharpe on a French navy ship for the battle of Trafalgar is completely believable. I have not read all of these books, but as with any fine series I know they are out there waiting for me when I am ready.

Davide Zhang daweizhang — The main character is a guy who writes comic books about superheroes but the twist is that superheroes really exist and the comic books exist as publicity for the superheroes. He is looking for love but feels that with superheroes around women aren't that attracted to regular girls. Good illustrations. Ok story.
