Michelle Spear spearmichelleffc9 — This was a great novel...couldn't put it down. I loved the characters and how the author interwove all the situations. A great weekend read. The topic of interacial birth has always been something that intrigued me because before I had my five children, I didn't know my ancestral background. There was always a fear deep down that something would go wrong or that my baby could be of a different nationality. Not that this mattered as much but that my husband at the time continually accused me of having affairs. The story-line here was easy to relate to for me and I was totally absorbed with what happened! Anyone who has wondered how they might react if what they were told about their family suddenly became known as an illusion or direct lie from their relatives, you would enjoy this story. It was kind of like a mystery. In the end, I felt transformed by love and appreciated the adventure this author took me through. You won't want to miss this one...it's a great read! You might even learn something about yourself that you didn't know was part of your thinking. We could all learn to love more unconditionally...(-: I highly recommend this novel!!!!!

Ana Buitrago _na_uitrago_rt_hoto — I liked it better than the first book in this series. I thought the characters were more developed and I enjoyed a few of the surprises thrown our way. The biggest draw back for me was I couldn't remember many of the supporting characters from the first book so it took me a while to figure out who everybody was.

Michele Roget michele1bea — Okay, so I only read 2 short stories out of this book, but I must move on for now in order to finish reading assignments for classes. But, I really enjoyed it, and I will definitely come back to it in the future. The short stories I read are very shocking and not often pleasant ending.
