Wang Chen upcwang0215564 — i have not read anything else by this author, but she is quite prolific. ellen is a single mother of a young boy she adopted, will. ellen receives a white card in the mail, like so many of us, that asks: "have you seen this child?" the child in the photo bares an uncanny resemblance to her son. and so begins her journey to solve the mystery of the origins of her son. each chapter ends with a cliffhanger and the action keeps pushing forward. the epilogue is a bit too tidy, but so it goes with such twists and turns.

Diónis Red _rtificial_eapot — Patrick Rothfuss' debut novel is hearty meal to digest. Although I found the beginning a little slow starting, once the actual tale began I was completely engrossed. Our hero Kvothe is far from perfect. He's arrogant but insecure at the same time. However his sheer brilliance and sometimes dumb luck pulls him through his trials. Kvothe as a character is a fully fleshed out living breathing person who I could imagine standing in my kitchen telling this tale. The peripheral characters were not as well crafted, but as a story told in the first person, we really only see what Kvothe things or sees of them. So while others commented on this as a detriment, I'd chalk it up to the first person narrative. As readers, we only see what Kvothe sees. I really enjoyed this book and am eagerly anticipating it's sequels.
