radyodinle
Erdal Deniz radyodinle — An honest look at what organized reigion has done and is doing to the world. This book points out the inherent irrationality in believing and following the teachings in books written hundreds of years ago, whose "truths" have absolutely no proof.

praktic
Denis Plotikov praktic — I really enjoyed reading this one. I liked the characters and the way they interacted, I loved the setting, and the pace was just right. I didn't feel like I was dragged along at break-neck speed, but I didn't really want to put it down unfinished either. There was plenty of humor without being overly silly and there was a tenderness that I don't always find in mysteries. As for the mystery itself, there were enough clues that I didn't feel lost, but enough twists and turns that I wasn't completely sure. Just what I love in a good mystery. I got this copy through First Reads but will be looking to purchase the sequels.

vuqthai
Vu Thai vuqthai — I gave this book five stars, even though it deserved much more. Since I wasn't a great fan of The Mortal Instruments (although I do read the books, because I'm curious), The Infernal devices is much better. Maybe it's the characters or the story itself - not a clue. But I loved every character in those two books and I just can't wait to read the third book - The Clockwork Princess. THE REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS, SO BEWARE. Tessa was and still is the greatest heroine I've read about. She's strong, caring, trustworthy and is not swooning over every attractive guy in the book [but maybe that's just because the story is set in the Victorian era? Who knows...]. I read TMI before TID so I expected to hate Tessa as much as I hated Clary (Yes, I hate Clary. She was the most dumbest and self-absorbed character I've read about. Even more than Kathy in Wuthering Heights. At least Kathy was spoiled, where Clary's mother was normal [except the whole Shadowhunter-in-hiding thing].) However, I loved Tessa. And when I read the second book, she became my favorite YA character. She wasn't stupid enough to refuse help when she needed it and didn't spend even a second (or a paragraph) to feel sorry for herself, even though she did have thousands of reasons to do so. I think Cassandra Clare did a great job creating Tessa and her personality - she wasn't perfect, she had flaws and she knew it. That's what made her great for me. And now onto Will... What can I say? Cassandra Clare didn't dissapoint here either. I was really expecting the reason Will was such a dick to everyone to be something small, insignificant, and that he alone makes it a big deal. Well, it wasn't. I won't say what it is - that is a huge spoiler, but I will say that it was worth waiting to find out. And we got to see a much sweeter side of him. The true Will really amazed me and I actually liked him in this book. His attitude wasn't selfish or cruel - it was the complete opposite. All he was trying to do was protect people around him. And, I'll have to say it again, I AM a sucker for the blue-eyes-black-hair combination. Seems like Magnus and I have a lot in common. :D Plus the whole colorful thing. I am a colorful person. And Jem. He was his sweet self as usual. I didn't expect any less of him and I liked how his relationship with Tessa evolved into something bigger. I won't say what happens, because that will be another huge spoiler, but let's just say it's going to result in a heartbroken Will. I was heartbroken a little when I read a scene between Tessa and Will at the end, but that's all my spitting out. Jessamine's betrayal absolutely pissed me off. Okay, that's a huge spoiler, hate me all you want. Blondie had been spying on her roommates and had been telling Nathaniel everything she knew about Tessa's plans to dodge the Magister and strike him unexpectedly (for a lack of a better description). When I found out that she married Nate (another spoiler) I wanted to jump her with a hammer and smash her empty head. How can a person be SO STUPID?! But since Cassandra Clare's character managed to make me feel such strong emotions, that's just proof of what a great writer she is. I think the reason I didn't like the Mortal Instruments was because this whole brother-sister thing between Clary and Jace threw me off. I know that they weren't really related, but it grossed me out to no end. And, just like Simon rubbed it in, Clary DID kiss her brother. Only she did not like it - Kudos to you, girl, even though I dislike you. Oh... sorry. I was rambling. So... now I guess it's Magnus time, eh? He is probably the best character in both series of Cassandra Clare. I like the way he broke things off with Camille by kissing Dazed Will in her own house. I like everything about Magnus and I can't wait to see what happens in his relationship with Alec in TMI. I hope Tessa pops in there, but that would be a huge spoiler, wouldn't it? And I liked Woolsey Scott! God, he was hilarious. :D I was expecting some kind of stoic moron, like Raphael (who really irritates me with his whole attitude towards Simon in TMI), but Woolsey was great. And his name sounds cute. Just say it outloud. Woolsey. Woolsey. So. That became one of my favorite books. I bought it, read it in a day and spend one hour contemplating how to write that review. I love Cassandra Clare's writing. She's amazing. Probably, after TID, I will read anything she writes. God, that is so Jeaniene-Frost-deja-vu. And although they write different genre of books, they are my favorite writers. Guess what I like most about Cassandra Clare's books? The suspense. It keeps you guessing and when it's finally revealed... BAM! So not what you were expecting this whole time. I'm gonna have to say that this is the best trait in her. She knows how to write mysteriously and doesn't leave anything out. Maybe others may notice plotholes, but I don't.
