Ibrahim Elshorbagy elshorbagy — I read this in one night! Really good read especially considering what Cameron experienced at the hands of his dead wife (although I do think they could have given more details on it). I love this series and this family. I may actually go back and read the series from the beginning in anticipationg of Hart's book (not sure when it's coming out). READ THIS SERIES!!!!

Andrea Van andreavanw805c — It all started with a long 8 hour drive to Lake Powell. I grabbed two books in a hurry, not knowing what they were, and jumped in the car. As 2 long, unexciting hours passed, I picked up the massive, black-covered book and read... That is until, I came to find out there were many pages of illustrated images. The sketches were there to help kick-start my imagination and help me visualize the characters. So I read a couple chapters, and found already that the book was hard to put down. In a way it kept me on the edge of my seat, even though it wasn't an action-packed book. It kept me thinking and wondering what was going to happen next. I ended up finishing the book in a few days while on my summer trip. This was by far one of the rare books that has not bored me to tears. I strongly reccommend it!

The authors choose to only eat food grown or caught within a 100 mile radius of their Vancouver BC home where they live together for one year. At first they think that it will be too easy, then they think it will be impossible. In the end they're wrong on both accounts. But they become blogging celebrities before long. The 100 mile diet becomes famous in a lot of the parts of the internet that I visit. The authors alternate writing from chapter to chapter. Each chapter is a month of their experiment. Each month you wonder what the other author was thinking, and sometimes you get answers later. The book is written very personally even though there are two people writing it, even though they are a couple. They gain an understanding of the foods they eat, meet the growers and the fishermen. They discover sources for foods they thought they'd have to go without. You too can learn how to can tomatoes, make jam, and make a root cellar on your apartment balcony. In the end Plenty, like any travel log that ends hapilly makes you want to do what they did. And eating locally shouldn't be that hard right?
