Karenlardilla Valenzuela karen_lardilla — we meet a beleagured husband of three bickkering wives (and posssibly 26 children) who become more and more demanding of him. As he leaves his mistress and a week of working on the road, he finds himself at a crossroads. The book finds him questioning how he feels about his family, job, children and lifestyle through a critical eye. There is humor in some of the situations he finds himself, but mostly we follow his jagged journey as he makes several wrong turns to a final conclusion. It took a while for me to get into the story and sort out the characters. The book picked up for me after that and I in turns found myself, sympathizing, criticizing and confused by the main character. I look forward to reading other revietws for another perspective.

Marcio Ballad marcioballad — Irreplaceable is a very well written book about about a family who has a member gives her organs after an accidental death. There is so much more to the book than that and more to it than the description provides. The reader gets glances in at what the family members feel when such a thing happens, what the feelings of the organ recipient and her family are, even what the feelings of the person who was involved with the accident are. I felt there was something missing somewhere for me and I still can't figure out just what it was. There were some parts that felt a little long-winded and probably could have been a little more attention grabbing, if you will. In the end, I had a lot to think about- Irreplaceable poses questions that I never really thought about before- not to such an extent anyway.
