craigswoboda
Craig Swoboda craigswoboda — This was the first book I remember falling in love with! I wanted to run off and join a wolf pack (seriously!)

Kurumi Hashimoto rurupaing — Ok, a little on the pretentious side maybe. I thought it was funny though and it made me think about a lot of stuff in new ways (even if not in useful ways). I've read it more than once... or twice...

Pranjal Gokhale gpranj007e887 — The plot had potential, but the writing was horrendous. Gold Star for finishing this. I can see why so many people liked it (it's a mindless read, good for an airplane or beach vacation, with a decent story), but I always expect more from the fiction I read. (Hence why my favorites include The Book Thief by Markus Zusak and Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer.)

hadirabouali
Hadir Abou hadirabouali — Not a bad book - definitely a fun read. You get to revisit the characters from the previous two books (something I always appreciate), and Foster's pacing is always solid. I'm not going to give away too much about the plot as I feel it will spoil the previous 2 books if you haven't already read them. I think I liked Alani best of the three heroines - she's had horrible things happen to her, but she's still pretty independent, although I would have thought that someone with such strong men in her life would have developed more sarcasm survival skills. There's not a lot of TSTL content with these characters, which is a nice change of pace. I must confess - I would prefer to have this as a trilogy, but suspect that the sequel bait introduced may move this into a fourth book - no more detail here, as I don't want to spoil anything for anyone. I like Lori Foster's work, and will continue to read this series; the energy, pacing and fun characters - not to mention the smoking' hot intimate scenes - always make her a great read.

lbali
Levent Bali lbali — Alex is just out in her first London season, with her two best friends. They are beautiful, and their parents expect them to marry, while the girls themselves are not interested in such prospects. A mystery crops up surrounding Alex's lifelong (attractive) friend, the Earl of Blackmoor. I WANTED to like this book. But oh, where to start. How about with the fact that the only thing that qualifies this book as a Young Adult novel are the ages of the "protagonists." Otherwise, the story is better suited to 9 year olds. Alex, Vivi, and Ella are completely rich, spoiled, unlikeable, unrelatable, unrealistic, pseudo-intellectual characters. They read like Caroline Keene's Nancy, Bess, and George- only discernable by their apperances and their boyfriends. Much "historical detail" is given to describing their dresses and hair, much like historical barbies. The girls all claim to be so interested in Jane Austen, and are so caught up in being "clever" that every time they talk it grates against your ears. They say things like "this is of great import," and "he flashed a grin." The characters all laugh at what one another says, and think themselves spirited and independant, when in truth no one would even dare to assume as much except that the author keeps insisting that they are. The "romance" is based on the way the male love interest's shoulders look in his tux, and there is never even a question as to who the villain is, what he wants, or how the story will end. Like I said, a perfect story for nine year olds. If you what-so-ever value the regency period, stay away from this book. Or read it if you want a good laugh, as there is no mention of class issues, historical detail, or ANY form of realistic relationships between friends, parents, siblings, politicians, enemies, etc. I do believe that this book was only published due to the somewhat less misguided popularity of "The Luxe."

_hristian_antacruz
Christian Santacruz _hristian_antacruz — I read this book (and the rest of the series) back before it hit any best-seller lists. I've always been a fan of apocalyptic literature (Salem Kirban anyone?), so this interested me right away. The series is decent. It's easy reading, with a good mixture of adventure and drama. I give the authors extra points for some of the extra-scriptural additions (the cross markings on the foreheads of the believers--nice touch). But I have to deduct a few dozen points for their portrayal of the Anti-Christ. Look, in the words of Confucius, "Satan is NOT a pussy!" (Or maybe it was Socrates, but you get the idea.) Portraying the Anti-Christ, the False Prophet, and their minions as Keystone Kops just doesn't cut it. If you want an idea of what the Anti-Christ's government would be like, read 1984. Now pardon me while I go watch Howie Mandel fight the Anti-Christ.
