Coyote Blue wasn't my favorite of his because none of the main characters were incredibly likable. Sampson Hunts Alone is a Crow Indian who has made a life for himself in the white world selling insurance with dubious business tactics. He is visited by Old Man Coyote, a shapeshifting Indian god, who is known as a trickster himself and generally causes a lot of trouble. Then there's the love interest, a ditzy hippie chick with a baby and a biker ex. Sampson starts out living a lie, then falls in with Coyote and Caliope and gets his comfortable life smashed up real good, forcing him to look deep into himself and embrace his heritage. Saw it coming from a mile away. But I guess there were some good jokes in there.

Meticulous examination of the Franklin - Eleanor relationship, the FDR-Churchill dynamics, life in DC and in the White House during this time, and a thread that highlights changes in US attitudes and social mores during (and because of) the war. I have yet to find a book that does a good job of depicting the Home Front as it was for 'normal' people in the US...like my mother and her sisters...while so many of the boys were off to war. That is the book I'd love to read.
