Silvio Lepszy lepszy — This book was a fun, easy read that kept my attention throughout. The premise was interesting and fresh, although the overall plot felt a little weak at times and seemed to drag.

And this version is the best for going back to the roots without all the King arthur tie-ins. Add that to Rosemary Sutcliff's beautiful writing, and this is one of the most epic, passionate and heartbreaking tales you will ever read. The original Romeo and Juliet, it will not dissapoint.

Shan Fei shanfei — I got this book for Christmas - my husband picked it out all by his onesie! - and I hoped for better things than Ahmad delivered. This is a woman who has led an intriguing life...but she writes in a style that is at once ornate and tedious. I got the impression that she thinks of her life as "a woman's journey", and she writes about that; but I wanted to know about Leila, about who she was and is, and she is oddly careful to hide all that. This is a memoir that reads like a sociology text...dull, dull, dull.

Rafael Bover behindthepixel — First off, this book is extremely well written. It reminded me of a very poetic Roseanne episode. My one criticism would be that I didn't have enough to like even one of the main characters - later in the book Holly has a likeable daughter. What You Have Left has me very interested in Will Allison's future books, but for now I consider this book a warm up.

Bryson streamlines the idea of an idealist utopian postwar society in such a way as to make my heart ache. The book paints the past in such a perfect light, it can easily make one pine for the past. The ending is heartfelt and bittersweet. A great read. I have no problems with this book, only the world.
