Erin is kickass at the start... a woman that knows, and gets just what she wants. Her submissive nature is hinted at -- but only slightly, when she begins her relationship with Todd. They seem to fall apart because he cannot admit to liking certain things... which, in truth, aren't really all that kinky. There's a huge time shift -- years gone by, and this isn't this first time the author does it. Her time shifts became more than a little annoying. At this point I see the characters as doing a complete 180. I understand people change with time, but DAMN! these are entirely different. I could understand, to a point, the D/s aspect of them, as it was hinted at BUT TAKING A THIRD PERSON INTO THEIR BED?!? No.... And for Todd to allow his best friend to touch, lick, kiss him? That one was utterly perplexing. Nowhere in this book is it hinted at that Todd was interested in men. Not. At. All. To me, yes, it was deliciously hot, but there were too many points where I launched the book across the room because the plot/character trait just didn't fit with what she had written earlier in the story. I do have the other books in the series, but I don't know whether to try them or not.

Timi Mókos timacs — This may be one of the WORST books I've ever read. I love historical fiction and when my book club chose this I was excited but it was simply AWFUL!!! The story line is predictable, the plot is thin and the characters are terribly stereotyped. Every chapter read like a poorly written soap opera... rape, child abuse, beatings, devastation, opium, gambling, alcohol, fire and starvation. It was overwrought, melodramatic and not worth my time.

Juan Manuel mostrosarra — I won this free copy through a Goodreads giveaway and I was very excited to read this. Where do I begin, but to say that this is a deliciously creepy read! For me, this novel starts out quietly and tells the story of Sarah Piper, a young woman with a lonely existence who answers her temp. agency's request for a job. At her interview she meets handsome,rich Alistair Gellis who investigates ghosts and hires Sarah to accompany him to a site where a young servant named Maddy Clare had committed suicide. Unbeknownst to Sarah, her new job opens doors to a hellish nightmare of a ghost's fury,frightening encounters and strange happenings all the while Sarah, her boss and his assistant Matthew try to find out why this dead woman's ghost is so angry and vengeful. I am not usually one for supernatural thrillers, but this book was at times spine tingling and had me on the edge of my seat! I am eagerly awaiting Simone St. Jame's next book!
