Others take your hand, take you dancing, or give you a hug, or a punch in the throat. Strange and singular and pretty damn wonderful.

Andreas Habermeyer identicalpictures — I absolutely loved Deception Point. After reading The Davinci Code by Dan Brown, I moved onto Angels and Demons and then ended with Deception Point and I feel Deception Point is by far the best of the 3. They were all great, but Deception Pt. is the only one that I have gone back and re-read cover to cover just a few short months after my 1st read. (I very rarely re-read a book.) The fact that it deals with National Security and takes place involving many "local" areas of interest really made it hit home and seem more real.

Sarah Foster fosters7a796 — I've read a couple Vonnegut books and they had the same effect on me: ok, I kinda get the point, but not entirely. I think it's not aimed at me. I think it's like when I'm outside with a friend and a bug flies by. My friend worries it was a bee, while I saw for sure that it was a fly, but I didn't see if it was one of the biting ones. Just not that interested in finding out.

Luke Marcatili _uke_arcatili — Pearl could have been an interesting story, but the characters are too over-the-top without being amusingly quirky. They are just odd and not very likeable. I did not find anyone that was interesting enough that would make me hope another book will follow with the same characters. Pearl still would have been readable except for the multiple graphically described rapes and other violence against women. It was just sickening. I read three-quarters of the book before I decided I had read more than enough.
