Alah’a isyan eder ve kovulur.Şeytan melek olsaydı cinsiyeti olmayacaktı. Mademki Şeytan cinlerden, cinlerin de erkeği dişisi olduğuna göre; Şeytan’ın cinsiyeti nedir acaba? Kadının erkeğin kaburgasından yaratılmış olmasını, erkeğin yarı haklarına sahip oluşunu, cehenemin çoğunluğunun kadınlardan oluşmasını, şeytanın Adem’e secde etmeyişinin arkasında feministlik aranmasını, “kadın şeytandır” sözünün yaygınlığını gözönüne aldığımızda şeytanın cinsiyetinin dişi olma ihtimali daha yüksek. - wordpres.com İşte bu kadın olayı yazarı tetikler. İçindeki kadın aşkını ve onlara karşı nefreti birleşir ve ortaya korkusuz öyküler çıkar. Size de her öyküyü okurken “Yok artık!” demek düşer. _acinda_aige
Jacinda Baird _acinda_aige — Really ... unique book, no doubt. Kinda fascinating, too. And it made me think about sound much more than ever before. But I LOVED Smilla's Sense of Snow - that's why I bought The Quiet Girl - but this one didn't meet my expectations. In half of the book I couldn't believe I'm just in a half. And with the last sentece I literally felt relieved that it's over. It might be just too complicated for me. As I said - it was really, really unique. I've never read any book like this before. But it wasn't my cup of tea.

David Davila davila1981da4c — A very nice, sweet love story and although it's a little cheesy it's nice to see the support the main character gets from her family and friends. It seems like in all the young adult books that I read the family is completely broken. I'm happy to see that me and my siblings aren't the the only teens in the world who don't hate their parents. I'll admit that Lucy, the main character, annoyed me at times. It seemed like she felt she was alone, which made her look ungrateful and bratty. Thankfully she quickly sees all the support that she has. The first half of the book seems a little slow because certain events have to take place in order for the actual conflict of the curse to arise. It was alright though since it's neccessary to the book. I really liked how the curse was a real song (a different version, but still). It really added a sense of realism to the book. I found myself trying to figure the curse along with Lucy and her family and I have to admit that I'm impressed. I wasn't even sure how they were going to do the first task! The villian is increadibly evil and demented. He serves his purpose though, and he's just the absolute definition of an evil and hated villain. The author is really good at keeping up the suspense and I was holding my breath wondering how it would all end, and happy at the conclusion of the book. Even though I roll my eyes at chessy scenes in movies and my sister says I'm cynical (which I dispute) it's nice to see a happy ending.

michelledacillo
Michelle Dacillo michelledacillo — Fun little book, that reminds me more than a little of Stephanie Plum. There's even a "Ranger" in it...and a poor, constantly wrecked vehicle. Typical cozy mystery...a less-than-bright everywoman, who must see justice done, and gets saved just in the nick of time from her own stupidity. I'm not sure I can take many more of Abby's adventures, but I might try one more...

bim1992
Nongnapat Pathuriyawett bim1992 — -I decided to read this book because I watched the movie and I absolutely loved it!!! -The category on the bingo board that this book completes is a book written by a male. -What I liked about this book was the general excitement e.g. a part where Lucy, Susan and Peter are trying to find Edmund and some wolves come up and start chasing them. I also liked the way that Aslan didn't stay dead, instead he came back to life and helped the children fight against the evil witch. -What I didn't like about this book was the fighting scenes where people got killed or injured (I don't like it when bad things happen in books). -I would recommend this book to people from age 5 to age 100 because it is a book that the whole family will enjoy. Children under the age of 5 might not understand some of the parts in the book. Also, the book is easy to comprehend.

creativeresto
Khaled Ben creativeresto — Read the full review at Witchmag's Boekenplank I was so happy when this book came out (you might remember the über happy post I posted). It cooled down pretty fast. Maybe it came because of the high expectations I had, since the other two book were so great. But I didn’t like this one as much as I thought I would. I didn’t get swept from my feet while reading the story… It’s still a nice story to read, but as you can understand I expected more, much more. I’m not exactly fond of first-person view and reading the book through the eyes of different characters, let alone a combination of it. I could live with it if it was the only thing that bothered me reading the book. This way of writing also made the book confusing at times and I developed a weaker bond with the characters. However, the beginning rocked! At first I didn’t even notice that the person who was telling the story was Chandra! I thought I was reading it from someone elses point of view and I was slightly disappointed about it. You can imagine how big my surprise was when I found out ^^. I didn’t recognize her because decades have passed since the last book. Wow! Never saw that one coming and I like surprises like this one ^^ Although can you still consider this book YA if the person herself is over a hundred years old or is this a PNR book? The disadvantage of the leap in time was that Artemis had changed, a lot. I didn’t recognize the naïve and fierce young woman who I met and grew to love. She almost seemed like a different person, even growing soft! The only thing that didn’t change was how naïve she is regarding men. *Sigh* Is she really a woman?? Speaking of men, the amount of men that fall in love with her increase with the minute. I know she’s a great gal, but there has to be a limit somewhere. In the first book we had one, in the second two and now we have three! Is this a trend? She doesn’t need that many falling for her, just one is enough and the limit to what she can handle I liked the world a lot more than the first book, when the paranormal beings invaded the human world. This time I couldn’t find something that bothered me and it became much more interesting. The King of the Vampires became sole dictator on earth and it became a medieval utopia, where humans are used as slaves. Apart from the human slaves, I found what we got to see very comprehensive and it had a mix of all kinds of customs, even some from the ancient Romans! The end was a bit too abrupt for my taste. I was still in the middle of the story and trying to understand what was happening, and then, no more pages! Of course it’s an open ending, just like the other two books, but this time it didn’t make me want to read to next book asap. It was a bit too predictable to end the story at this moment, so I knew what was coming ;). It also made me feel that everything’s gonna be alright in the book. Although I might come back on this statement after reading the last book in the series, knowing Catherine Banks, and I might find the ending a bit more impressive by then ^^ Overall Rating 3 hearts. I really wish I could give it more, but it’s just not worth it in my eyes. It’s a nice and amusing sequel, but it missed the earth shattering feeling the other books gave me after reading them. I didn’t get the feeling that much happened, even at the end. I’m still curious to how everything will end, so I’ll look forward to the next book, which hopefully has an even greater beginning. I never had such a huge HUH??! reaction after reading this one ^^
