_erting_rt
Harry Taylor _erting_rt — I just love a girl who kicks butt, and Saba does it so well she is called the Angel of Death! Very similar to Hunger Games. It's a nice touch that it's written phoentically and with very little punctuation since everything after the Wreckers is supposed to be back to basics. The only thing I would have liked was a back story to what happened to the world.

Gina Rego ginarego0ffb — The students in my 1st grade cohort loved this book. Funny book about a siamese cat who is anything but that!

reminisce
Gihoon Hong reminisce — Hilarious book -- one of the funniest books ever written. A little too romantic for me, but I can overlook that.

ameenos
Noorul Ameen ameenos — Lots of (hopefully) useful information written in an easy-to-understand format, with lots of diagrams. It loses a star for me because it is very repetitive.

zy_onia
Ya Zhu zy_onia — Third book in the Confederation series. Torin Kerr has been promoted to Gunnery Sergeant and is busy giving de-briefings about Big Yellow, the alien ship she encountered in The Better Part of Valor. She gets the chance to take a break and spend two weeks on Crucible, the planet used for final combat training of new Marine recruits. (Only Gunnery Sergeant Kerr could view this as a "break".) Soon after arrival, everything goes to pieces as someone, presumable the Others, takes over control of the computer systems and the training battles become real. Great battle scenes and interesting dynamics among the different species. I really liked the twist toward the end as Kerr figures out what is really going on. I'm looking forward to reading the next book kin the series.

ravali_jaya
Uma Jaya ravali_jaya — Romance. Quinn McKenzie's got a good job, a good boyfriend, and a good head on her shoulders, but when she takes in a stray dog she realizes her boyfriend's not as good as she thought. In fact, he's a jerk. So she leaves him and starts looking at her best friend Nick with new, sexy eyes. I've read this before, but I'd forgotten just how damned creepy and upsetting the ex-boyfriend is. I've read novels with serial killers who were less menacing. But this guy's just so dogged and matter-of-fact with his stalking. It's discomforting and, for me, taints the romance a little because I was so creeped out by the ex-boyfriend I couldn't fully enjoy the new boyfriend. This is one of Crusie's older, transitional novels where she starts adding more mystery and intrigue and family dynamics into her standard romance plot. It's obvious she's still working out the kinks in this new approach. I would have liked her to spend more time establishing the Quinn/Nick friendship before turning them into a couple. We're told they're best friends who speak every day, but we don't see that, and since I love a story where best friends fall in love, it would have been a lot more satisfying for me if I could have seen that happening. But this is still a pretty solid romance -- the sexual tension is drawn out, the sex itself gets a little metaphorical but is mostly grounded in the physical, and since Nick is Quinn's ex-brother-in-law (from years and years ago) there's a nice element of the forbidden.

bereniceipince
Berenice Ipince bereniceipince — It took me a while to read this in its entirety. For some reason that's true of all Rushie books which I frequently put down to read something else and then pick up again later. As always his prose is beautiful as is his imagery, and despite starting and stopping a few times I truly loved the story.
