Tianyi Liu _iany — I think this is James Baldwin's first novel, racey for it's time. I can't recall the details but it has definitely left an impression on me. It deals with a sexual relationship between a black man and an italian. It's a short read, but powerful nevertheless. I would definitely recommend this to anyone interested in James Baldwin.

Sandija Veipa sandijaveipa — Fascinating history of Catherine's own sexploits as she searches for the "sexual holy grail." Despite the graphic nature of the book, it's clearly not meant to arouse the reader but rather to examine the notion of eroticism. The reader must divorce himself from the preconception that this book is meant to be overflowing with passion; that is plainly not the point. Catherine examines and then shatters traditional assumptions about gender, sex and sexuality. By turns graceful, aloof and above all unapologetic, it's no surprise this book caused such a sensation in Europe, though I am skeptical that many Americans will appreciate its true value.

Rodrigo Ferrão rodrigoferrao — A friend recommended this book to me before my first visit to BENIN. It is a very good book in any case, essential if you are going to or are in Benin.
