His claim was that he read so much, he often couldn't remember what he'd read. Well, that's kind of how I feel about James Patterson. He grinds out books like an assembly line worker. Two days after I've read one of his novels, it's as forgotten as last year's birthday cake. What's more, Patterson is enlisting other writers to partner with him. In this case, it's Michael Ledwidege with whom he's penned two others. Anyway, here's the story this time. Some well-dressed murderer is on a spree in Manhattan, targeting the rich and arrogant. Detective Michael Bennett, a widower with 10 young children, is the hero. The plot, pure formula, really doesn't matter. Just enjoy the ride and forget it. I did.

Rajeev Dave rajeevdave — I picked this one off "The Best Books" shelf at the library. This book did not disappoint- it is definitely one of the best books I have read this summer. "Saving CeeCee Honeycutt" made me want to pack up and move to Savannah, Georgia myself. Beth Hoffman does an amazing job of describing the South and its charms whether it be the atmosphere, the women, or the hospitality. I fell in love with this cast of eccentric characters. I felt like I knew CeeCee, Aunt Tootie, Oletta, and Ms, Goodpepper. Beth Hoffman excels at character development in her debut novel. "Saving CeeCee Honeycutt" reminds me of a mix between "The Secret Life of Bees" and "The Help". This book was laugh-out-loud funny and touching at the same time. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good read!
