Artur Barcik snts — An amazing read on the evil and goodness in mankind, but it definitely takes a committed reader to make it through this book. It can often be confusing with the Russian names, especially if you've had no experience with Russian names before, since Russian's have many ways to say one name to express different terms of endearment. But despite the heavy reading material, and the length of time it took me to get through this, I really enjoyed it. It's one of those books that really makes you contemplate on the meaning of life.

Porsha M _onquer_reate — A fictional account of the woman at the well. This is the author's first novel, and I was impressed with the research of the time period and setting. The writing reflects the author's previous work as a poet, so the lyrical prose is poetic and at times even beautiful, though the style is more distant than most modern novelists. I enjoyed the book, and read it in one evening. The woman at the well became a real person in my mind, not merely an unnamed Biblical character, and I do recommend it as enjoyable Biblical fiction. Readers may want to keep in mind, though, that any fictionalized account of a well-known Biblical incident may contradict some preconceived notions. The Marah in this story bears little resemblance to the the woman I've always pictured the woman at the well to be. I liked this one, though, and couldn't wait to see her meet Jesus!
