Julian Gomez jhuliangomez — Fun, easy read like the first in the series. Not that this is a bad thing but quite the opposite. This is better than the first. I love the little twists in the story that make you keep on guessing. I have a tendency to figure things out far too soon in these types of books but not with Dan Wells. I love books that you have to really read and get so in depth with the story line like The Count of Monte Cristo, but I also love books that you read just to have fun and let go and this is one of those books. Not sure what that says about me but it does say alot about the author that he can weave such a great story and make you love his characters no matter the flaws they have. After all don't we all have flaws and just want somebody to love us? OK, OK we may not all have the same kind of flaws that John does but that is all up to individual perceptions:)

Mac Smeets creativeworld_of_n_ — I've read this book at least 6 times, and will continue to read it again and again and again. It's where I frequently turn when things begin to feel mundane and I'm in need of a fresh perspective. Chronos vs. Kairos. I want to know more Kairos.

Matts Van mattsie4726 — A moving memoir, beautifully written and crafted. McCourt brings to life the terribly harsh realities of life in Ireland for the poor in the 30's & 40's, with an understated but crystal clear rendering of his life, emotions, and the wonderful Irish speech patterns of Limmerick! Very enjoyable.

Hamburgirl Star 331953956b195 — Had some slow parts but I keep going and it got quite good. Martel is an amazing writer and I thought the ending was surprising but then maybe it wasn't...
