Lucía Santapaola thisislys — This book was just one crazy ride. It's about this kid named Blake who is afraid of rollercoasters. Blake is really smart he tested out of high school at 16 and this whole adventure is just a carnival ride. While at the amusment park one day he gets an invitation to go to a secret carnival. He goes to the carnival in search of his brother who mysteriously disappeared and finds out that he just has to make it through this last ride.

Gauri Wandalkar gauriwandalkar — I was hoping to enjoy this book a little more about a boy and his grandfather who both like mysteries. But I thought this was a little dry of a read. There were lost tickets involved and they had to find them but..... I think I will try others and see if I like them any better. Grades 1+

Pri Assunção priassuncao — Red Smoke Rising has everything in a fantasy novel I love...action, lots of fantasy characters, including a minotaur, and a gritty, well thought out storyline that kept me interested from the very beginning. Sure, there are a few tiny story line character issues, things that happen which don't quite jive with the character's traits, but they are so insignificant that I am not even sure they are mistakes and maybe Mr. Anthony meant for them to be there. I can't wait to read another novel by Mr. Anthony as after reading Red Smoke Rising it isn't hard to tell that he is a very talented writer!
