I confess to having been unimpressed by it years ago, but the more I read about Cesare Borgia, the more interesting I find him to be. Yes, he was ruthless, but also a brilliant tactician. Having recently finished Paul Strathern's "The Artist, the Philosopher and the Warrior" I was put into a more open frame of mind as I approached the book this time. I suspect that being older and better read in history gives me a greater appreciation for this book.

Rafael Tavares rafaeltavares — I have read most of Murakami's Haruki Murakami stuff. After a long stint with his novels several years ago, I was a little burned out, but my boyfriend took me to a stage production of After the Quake. It reminded me what an excellent story teller, Murakami is. I especially like his short story abilities.

Andrzej Kwedo kwedo — this book is difficult to read at first because there are a lot of words that arent easy to understand. its more of an adult book and some of the names are hard to keep up with scince there are so many. ishmael did a good job creating this book and its sad the things he had to witness.

Somar H somar50 — Okay, I could have lived without all the religious stuff at the end and I had to read the accompanying notes to get a handle on some of the agricultural/sociopolitical background, but, basically: Wow. Amazing, really amazing how he gets into people's heads. (Note, I did not read this in Italian, I just clicked the image that looked like the cover of the version I did read.)
