One I've been wanting to read for a couple of years, so that I could go on and read The Master, by Colm Toibin, which is about Henry James and supposed to be good. Not being a true connoisseur of literature, I found this a little easier to read than expected. It was interesting to see how Henry James felt about people back in the 1800's, and tried to present the woman's perspective. I thought Henrietta Stackpole was the most gutsy character. I was disappointed in the ending, but it shows how women were bound to customs over happiness.

This was a great start to a fantastic series. Very hard to put down and worth the low price. Can't wait to read the next book!
