Rob Sawchuk _ — This book left me in a euphoria of astonishment, as i proceeded with it with utmost care and responsibility. I read in between the lines to discover that this book represented not only the good things in life, but also the bad things, medium things, and medium/good things. This got me thinking: What if I decided that I, myself, wanted to drink soda? Could I?

Khoa Cao comichubble — I can never decide how I feel on the "is this true in spirit even if it isn't her completely true experience?" issue. It's kind of like reading the Bible--you have to be able to accept that truth, oddly enough, has a bit of gray to it. I was deeply affected by Menchu's tale, I will say that much. I simply wish she had thrown a disclaimer in there somewhere ("Okay, okay, not all of this happened to me, but be sure that everything in here happened to someone. The brutality is true, even if the details aren't"). Aside from that, it must be said that I found the writing less than extraordinary at points, but I still learned quite a bit.

Nana Tenetko nanatenetkbee4 — There was this man who had so many hats and the man who had only one hat. One day the man with 99 hats ( and in the picture he is wearing all on top of each other) meets the man with only on hat. You know what happens at last? He takes the only hat of the one hat man and now he has 100 hats. It sure is a crazy world isn't it?

Francisca Urria franciscaurria — I read the book and then watched the movie directly after. They are very similar, except in the movie a great deal is missing from Robbie's time in WWII and so of course it is changed a bit. Also, as great as the movie was (James McAvoy especially portrayed Robbie very truthfully) it was a bit more obvious with a certain character which really took away from the story. I have to say that I would have preferred Atonement to end at the end of the third segment and if I read it again I'll surely skip the very end. I think it was a strong ending and the last tiny bit just really didn't do it for me. At times it dragged slightly for me, but overall it was an amazing story.
