Ian Macgregor ianmacgregor — This book is a LONG read, and the first half of the book can be as dry and dull as anything. However the second half was wonderful and read more than twice as quickly. The ending was worth trudging through the novel. I'd give this about 3.5 stars but rounded up for generosity's sake. I'm just glad I finally finished the darn thing.

Imaxions Studio imaxions — i love david sedaris. i need to read this one and all his others again very very soon. no one is better at making you laugh(out loud), cry, cringe and feel absolute heartbreak all in one (true) story. fabulous

Imen Soltani _men_oltani — I enjoyed this book, but felt it could of been a lot shorter. Very detailed.

Robert Vel gasvi — Sweet story, could read it a million times if I had to.

Robert Flynn robertflynn — really enjoyed this one a LOT!!! It was about a teenager boy who was on his way his senior prom, but saw his younger sister, Annika, laying face-down in the family's swimming pool. He rescued her and brought her back to life, but then she slipped into a coma. This event changed the family a lot in various ways, and what I enjoy the most was the main character, Monroe's thoughts to himself. The reviews compared him to Holden Caulfield of The Catcher in the Rye. He was very witty, and so real. I even had to double-check a few times to see if the book was a memoir, but nope - it was a fiction. It definitely became obvious at nearly the end. I do not want to elaborate any more, unless you've read the book, and then sure, I'd love to discuss that in-depth! There were many stuff and ideas in the book that I really liked, and these that made me really think, or clarified some of my beliefs and thoughts. I picked two; "They're not heroes, they're not Gods - they're just people," page 243. "Heroes are there to be loved, but not to love you back. How can anyone respect you when you put them up on a pedestal? They'll always be looking down at you. I'm not saying heroes are a bad idea, even if they do disappoint you in the end. Maybe that's what they're there for in the first place. Maybe that's the whole point. As your heroes fall away and you're left standing, you realize you can do whatever you want. You realize the only person you have to live up to is yourself." page 244. "God never gives us more to deal with than we can handle," page 250. This is definitely something we all need to remind ourselves of when things get to be a bit too much.
