Jerry James jerryjames0a4d — This is a book for Book lovers everywhere! The plot sucks you in and doesn't let go until the end. Twists and gentle turns take you through the story of lives colliding with unforseen consequences to create an amazing tapestry.

Gabriela Gonzalez pmacoy — ** spoiler alert ** I really enjoyed this book. I especially loved the secondary characters like Marta(I look forward to hearing more about her in the sequel), Lukasz,Alek, and Krysia. Emma/Anna had her moments for me. I love how she was willing to help out the resistance, which to me was the best part of the book-I wish the Jenoff would have gone more into what the characters involved in that instead of so much time on the Kommandant. I often got irratated with Emma/Anna's character becuase she out the resistance in danger so often for her own selfish benifits. The one charter throughout the book I could not stand was the kommandant. I know that as a reader we were supposed to sympathize with him but I couldnt bring myself to do it, especially after we find out about his wife and father in law. The idea behind the kommandant's character is great and I wish it could have been explored more on his end-his thoughts and feelings. To me he was a weak man, with very little reedeming qualities. A lot of reviews that I read have said that the kommandant was not strong enough to stand up to the horrors he saw, which is true, but that shouldnt make him a likeable character. Especially when he may have had the power and position to help, even if it would have meant his death. I could have respected him a lot more if he would have died fighting for the woman he supposedly loved, instead of being to weak to admit he loved a jew.

Garrett Ammon garrettammon — Absolutely, hands down, one of the funniest books I have ever read. I also have one of his readings at Carnegie Hall on cd and almost drive off the road due to gut wrenching laughter on a regular basis.

Eine Nation nationalhymne — Okay, here's the deal: Certain sections of the book are dated, for example Friedan presented a very naive and contradictory explanation of homosexuality amongst men. Friedan also lambasts Freud and then actually uses him to support her hypothesis. DESPITE these inconsistencies and errors, this is still a revolutionary book and worth the read.
