Is Hittin ipawn19384 — Grant Morrison's writing is pretty much hit or miss with me. When he hits, it's a grand slam at the bottom of the ninth inning with his team down 3 runs to win the World Series. When he misses, he's caught looking as a meaty fastball comes screaming down the the middle of the plate just begging for him to hit it. Well, for this book, Grant Morrison scores a hit. And what a smash. It's pretty much one of the best Superman stories ever told. Period. And why is that? Because of Frank Quitely's art. He captures the feel of Superman in every panel. Definitely a must read.

Patricia Bernal patriciabernalcortes — I hate to steal words of those but on the back of the book in a little quote it called the author the Studs Terkel of something or another. After finishing the book, well actually first hundred pages it was pretty obvious, that this is no understatement. Max Brooks is Studs reincarnated as a writer of zombie fiction. He uses interviews of different people from different places to weave and intricate story of the worlds largest war, the zombie war. Perhaps I'm just a bit of a nerd and like to have another persons thoughts on the best way to stay alive when the dead reanimate. It always nice to plan ahead for such things and have as many views as possible. Gives a nice more in depth position then zombie flicks do.
