Andy Logan kookaburra — As soon as I finished this novel, I turned right back to page 1 and reread through. Though some disagree, I feel Card's portrayal of a genius child succeeds: Ender and his siblings are insightful, quick, but emotionally immature. The Wiggin children especially are fully realized characters, and the plot itself is imaginative while avoiding falling prey to "Klah-itis."* * See miserable Dragonriders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey, who equates ingenuity with contriving agonizingly irellevant lexicons.

Shrinivas Gurav art1986shri — The historical aspects of it were VERY interesting and I loved the first 3/4 of it but it sort of lost me on the home stretch.

Andrew Hodgson ajhodgson — An amazing look at the real lives of several different people all threaded together by common themes of humanity -- growing old, meaning, hope, hunger, need, and family. I was emotionally moved by this novel in many times an uncomfortable way which is good as I confront some of my own thoughts and feelings about these issues in my own life. Strout so well expresses what I have often felt but have been unable to find the words to describe.
