Laura Duggan _aura_uggan — I'm about halfway through this book and I love it as much as the first one. These books are the most realistic and accessible of any fantasy I've read. They're beautifully written and packed with enough emotion to make me want to throw the book across the room sometimes or excitedly tell someone else what was happening. I was too excited to not start writing a review, and I'll finish this review properly when I'm finished reading. I wish the story would never end.

ángel Trujillo _ngelcatrin — With From the Ashes Ostrander updates his idea of villains turned government operatives (think: the Dirty Dozen) in a tale that bashes big corporate warmongers with thinly veiled political overtones (that simultaneously don't come off as heavy handed). Fans of the original series from the 1980's won't find anything new here, but they won't be disapointed either. Ostrander stays on top of his game creating a veritible lair of asps and throwing the characters into it face first. What follows is a meat grinder of backstabbing, betryals, and personal preserverance that makes for a damn fine tale, worth reading again and again. This is definitely a series I'd like to see continued, especially in the current global perspective. I really only have two words to say to Mr. Ostrander: More Please.

Rajab Mohammed rajab96moh0392 — This was an interesting book and I was surprised that it was autobiographical. Although there were girls there with a variety of mental disorders the author I don't believe was really suffering from anything that most adolescents haven't suffered from.I didn't really feel any sympathy from her. SHe was a privileged girl who had made some bad choices and wound up in a mental hospital. I think she was intrigued by the people she met and it became a safe haven for her. There is something appealing about falling out of society and not having the responsibilities of living up to someone else's expectations. The book highlighted the other girls and what got them there, the nurses, and the psychiatrists. It's variety of characters is what made this book interesting. If nothing else, the author was a very goo observer of others.
