I like Salacuse's approach to managing/leading leaders because he takes into account the multi-layered networks of people who are ultimately affected by the decisions those leaders make, putting the onus of responsibly influencing leaders on you.

Marija Livrinik marija_liv — Third in the "Raines of Wind Canyon" series featuring the youngest brother. He is the most unsettled and guarded of the three brothers. Disappointed and hurt from past relationships, he has determined that he will pursue his successful investments and reap the harvest of years of hard work as a private investigator while traveling and "playing" with the "arm candy of the moment." A very readable and compelling romantic suspense novel with action, surprises, colorful characters that come alive as the story progresses. I really liked this book.

Mishka Panjavidze _iringan — April book club selection. This is a fascinating, well-written autobiography. Qanta Ahmed, whose parents are Pakistani Muslims, grew up in London and trained at Harvard and other US schools to become an ER physician. She lost her US visa and spent 2 years in Saudi Arabia. Her descriptions of life there from her work in the hospital to her friendships to the difficulties of being a woman or a man in such a restrictive society are honest and compelling. I especially enjoyed her description of her spiritual journey as a Muslim, beginning when she made the hajj to Mecca. What we know about Islam from the media is a far cry from her insights into her faith.

Prashant Gaikawad prashant8912 — Perry's Victorian-era mysteries are interesting as much for the insight into the English class system of the time as for the engaging characters and the original plot twists. This is one of several featuring a young woman of the upper class who marries a mere, lowly police detective.
