Twice Twice twicemx — This was really more of a collection of vignettes of Moose County and its residents rather than a mystery.

Boyzab Karaweng boyzab — EXACTLY what I wanted in a Torchwood book! And I don't just mean the Jack/Ianto hints, because a couple of those were a little...well, they just didn't quite work for me.

Katie Rose katierose37 — Historical fiction at it's finest. This book was beautifully written. Alvarez recounts the stories of the sisters Mirabal in a powerful and captivating way. What a wonderful tribute to these amazing and inspiring heroines.

Laura Dodd ldodd — Wow. This was an intense read which tackled two of my big fears--car accidents and losing my family. A short book that packs a lot of punch. Wonderfully written.

Barbara Morales _edcockatiel — This novel follows the stories of three doctors, and how they were able to overcome the harsh life of living in the ghetto, and the various pressures society placed on them, to eventually go to college, succeed in medical school, and become renowned doctors. I found The Pact (which I actually still have two chapters left to read) to be quite provocative, as it poses the question of what can and should be done to encourage low income young black males to break out of the cycle of poverty and violence to pursue a college education and a decent job. As a middle class white girl I really didn’t know much about the troubles of lower class young black men, and found this novel to be eye opening. I recommend it to anyone wanting to look through someone else’s eyes, and also anyone interested in making the world a better place. As a side note, I learned of this book after hearing the Three Doctors speak at a recent event.
