T Dash tasdash — I loved this book, although it was unbelievably hard to read at times. Lots of tragedy in this story of two women's lives in Afghanistan. But just when I thought I couldn't stand reading one more sad twist...... Great read. I highly recommend it.

Mark Haley markhaley — Brilliant, Brilliant Author! Kind of Braveheart-ish. If you liked that, you may like this. Can good triumph over evil? Or will it always be a matter of the guy with the sword wins? What about when the guys that are supposed to be good are really evil? You may be moved to feel every emotion possible. At times you may find yourself wondering "Is there a God? How could He let these things happen?" While at other times you see things were only possible with Divine Intervention. "The duck swallows the worm, the fox kills the duck, the men shoot the fox, and the devil hunts the men."

Greta Smetoniute _agalve — The story of Anna and Charles began in the anthology On the Prowl with "Alpha and Omega". Although the initial short story is (a) a little too short and (b) too open-ended, it's still much better than Cry Wolf. Anna is dealing with the aftermath of of repeated rape, while Charles has to keep himself from pushing their fragile relationship too far too quickly. And yet, the depiction of both Anna's emotional struggle and Charles' dilemma is so bland and superficial it failed to move me in any way. The development of their relationship is further pushed into the background by a mystery plot and an emphasis on pack politics. It wouldn't be so bad if the few moments that Anna and Charles share alone would match "Alpha and Omega" in intensity, but they don't. I wanted to like this book, I really did. I ended up disappointed, but I'm hoping the next book in this series will be better.
