Francesco Bianchi _ra_ia — I started reading this book a while ago but did not get through much of it. Having heard of President Mandela's death, I decided to read it although I should have read it earlier seeing as I love South Africa! I didn't understand a lot of the political things that happened, especially towards the end but what I found interesting are the things that he did while in prison. It is a pretty dense book but I found myself turning the pages. You could see how much he regretted having to sacrifice his family over helping his country but it made you appreciate all that he did for South Africa as well as how he inspired the world. It was a good book and I would highly recommend it!

Bernard Thomas _ernard_homas — I'm finally happy for reading this book because now I'm aware of the original meaning of the phrase "Catch 22" (which by the way can be considered as a "deadlock" in programming context). It was a long reading and I certainly had problems with remembering who is who because of the too many characters (30+). There is this strange silly humour which made me laugh and a few very strong brutal moments which I think I will remember for a long time. There were moments that made me feel very upset but I guess in time of war the picture couldn't be more shiny.

Kc Bradshaw exkclamation — What a cool structure for a novel, and what a waste that DeLillo spends so much time dicking around showing Oswald going nuts only to spoil his efforts with the twist at the end. Boy, I bet this DeLillo fella can write his arse off when his work is tight.

I rarely read books and go, "Goddamn, why can't I meet someone who will dress me in boys underpants, make me pack a cock and then bitchslap me around?" I guess I'm probably missing the point of this nuanced look at a self destructive romance.
