Needzagency Needzagency needzagency — The Mistborn trilogy is just an amazing piece of work. It has just about everything right, and I just love every minute of it! The plot is intricately done over the three books. The first one does the typical fantasy destroy the emperor trilogy, but only in one book. The second is essentially the aftermath of those events and trying to stabilize the city/country. The third is then when stuff gets insane and it's save the world from an ultimate evil story. I could go on about the story, but I think those generalizations are good enough for now. If not, then there are other reviews and blurbs and such. The characters are a main part of this trilogy. If they weren't as interesting as they were, then this series would lose a lot of it's charm. That's mainly because the dialogue and character interactions are just a delight to read. Vin is a strong female lead, and her struggles for a stable life are very interesting. Other highlights are Kelsier (the most awesome fantasy book character I've read ;)!), Elend, Ham and Chee...I mean Breeze, Sazed, and Spook (in the third book at least). One thing to note is the magic system. To put it simply, it's one of the best, if not the best, magic system I've ever had a delight to read. If the plot and characters don't do it for you, the magic system will. There are strict rules for it, and yet there are many unknown details about it. I would pay full movie ticket price (with popcorn) just to watch one of these fights! (Especially that one in the third with Vin at the end) And that leads to the violence. If you are squeamish, you might not like some of what happens. It's not the most detailed thing ever, but there are disturbing scenes in the series. You are warned. Plus death. There is also a decent bit of swearing, and there is a bit of nudity and implied sex, so just keep that in mind if your wanting to recommend this to a younger reader. The Good: The magic system, the action scenes, the plot, the characters, how this is basically a typical fantasy plot but purposefully done almost mockingly The Bad: Might seem a bit TOO epic to some with the later two books Warnings: Violence This is my favorite book series for a reason, and that reason is because it's completely awesome. Get it from your local bookstore, the library, or wherever you get your books!

I'm also really thankful that Veronica didn't feel the need to hit us w/ a heart stomper cliffie ending to ensure the success of the next book (I'm looking at you Delirium) I highly rec to anyone who hasn't read it yet since I was late to this party.

Rafael Tavares rafaeltavares — I LOVE these guys! I couldn't wait for this book to come out and I downloaded it and read it as soon as I got home tonight. What a great story for these two. I was pretty pissed off at Derek's family and the way they treated Elliot and Derek before the wedding - especially that creepy BIL who instigated the whole foolishness. I loved that Derek stood up to them and didn't stay where he had to listen to words like "tolerate". And that he came to his senses. Great conclusion for this fun couple.
